Hugh Robert Receives 2024 Brunton-Will CLE Award

Last Friday, April 26th, the Tulsa County Bar Foundation honored Sherwood & Robert principal Hugh Robert with the Brunton-Will CLE Award at its 2024 Law Day Luncheon. Given annually, the award spotlights Tulsa County Bar Association members who have provided outstanding contributions in the field of continuing legal education by advising attorneys on the theories and practical considerations of law, developing meaningful and thought-provoking educational programs, and teaching fellow attorneys the highest professional and ethical standards as exemplified by their own conduct in the practice of law.

Hugh’s contributions include serving on nonprofit boards to both the Young Lawyers group as well as the Tulsa County Bar Association, with a focus on ethical considerations and avoiding dual roles (e.g. board member and lawyer). He has also taught CLEs on ethical considerations for attorneys advising clients on estate planning, and crisis management for nonprofit board members.

Hugh has extensive experience litigating complex corporate cases, focusing on business and real estate transactions, business disputes, and estate planning. He represents and advises non-profit foundations and organizations, serves as outside general counsel to nonprofits and businesses of varying sizes, also serves as an Adjunct Settlement Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District. Hugh is actively involved in the Tulsa community, and is particularly involved in solving food insecurity—he is the co-founder and board president of Lawyers Fighting Hunger, Inc.

By receiving this award, Hugh Robert demonstrates his own, and Sherwood & Robert’s, dedication to continuing legal education and ethical standards.
